Six young people, ages 18 to 22, are shot.

Five men and a woman are shot at a young woman’s 17th birthday party at the Anna Cole Community Center in the Bromley-Heath housing development. The young woman’s mother, Anissa Booker, had checked guests’ bags for alcohol and guns and turned away anyone that she did not know or considered too old, but a group of young men forced their way in and begin shooting. Booker subsequently complains, “It’s not fair that these people came in and did what they did and put all them kids’ lives in danger. Them babies was under my watch.”
